Are You a Childfree Woman In Your 40s? Now is the Right Time to Explore Working For Yourself
Why I’m going to do it, and you should, too
Like many others, I work full time and write on the side. Unlike many others, though, soon I will be walking away from my full-time job and trying to make my side hustle become my reality. It’s not because my writing gig has soared to levels that will support me — on the contrary, I have no doubt that I won’t see much income from it for quite a while.
So how am I able to leave the stability of a good paycheck with benefits and head into the unknown? It’s because I am a childfree woman in her forties, and that means I have both the time and experience to give something crazy a go. If you also fit this description, maybe it’s time you considered doing the same.
Side note, I am unapologetic about being in this situation. I appreciate my sisters who spend every waking moment either working to support their children or accompanying said children to a relentless stream of lessons and sports. It’s probably extremely fulfilling, and I’m grateful that they are ensuring a stronger future generation.
Still, I bet sometimes it must really suck, and I don’t envy them at all.
